GIGAVAC, LLC was founded in 2002 by a small group whose primary goal is customer service. Opening the doors of a modest facility on March 31, 2003, GIGAVAC has established a center to test and ship all GIGAVAC products. At the time, it included a range of high-voltage and RF induction relays specifically labeled for the company, the original product line of high-voltage relays. Sales quickly grew, enabling GIGAVAC to manufacture more products at its California facility. This growth has also provided an opportunity for GIGAVAC engineers to address the challenges of creating a sealed contactor with high power switching capability. As a result, the patented EPIC sealed contactor series was produced, which was launched in late 2006.Backed by sales growth, the company moved to a new facility in July 2008. Over the next four years, GIGAVAC witnessed continued sales growth in both its high voltage relays and reed products. The most dramatic growth was in contactors. The product range was expanded to include GX industrial contactors, MX contactors for military applications and sensing contactors for advanced applications. In addition, the HX series was introduced to meet the increasing voltage requirements of various electrification applications. GIGAVAC was acquired by Sensata Technologies at the end of 2018. With the support of a multinational, publicly traded company, access to additional engineering resources and global market and distribution channels was achieved.
